Area of Regular Polygons - Hexagons, Pentagons, & Equilateral Triangles With Inscribed Circles

This geometry video tutorial explains how to calculate the area of a regular polygon using a simple formula. The first two problem explains how to calculate the area of a pentagon and a hexagon given the apothem and a side length. The next two problems explain how to calculate the area of a hexagon and a pentagon given the only the side length. You need to use right triangle trigonometry to calculate the length of the apothem. First, you need to calculate the angle. The area of a regular polygon is half of the product of the perimeter and the apothem of the polygon. The sixth problem discusses how to calculate the area of a regular hexagon given the radius only. The last problem explains how to calculate the area of an equilateral triangle with a circle inscribed in it with the radius given.
