Architecture vs Design Experiment
Experiment: agile architecture vs design
Problem: We need systems with architectures that allow us to react to change quickly. We also need to ensure we use our skilled architect's time as wisely as possible as it is a limited resource with high system impact.
Hypothesis: We need to define the difference between architecture and design, and we need to distinguish between architecture in an agile world vs tradtional big design up front architectures. Doing this will allow us to respond to change quickly.
Time Frame: 9 months, ask pivot or persevere every three
Typical Outcomes: decrease cost of development, increase reuse, decrease time to make significant system changes
Skill Growth Criteria: You have created analysis models, design models and implementation models that separate technlogy from behavior. You have an architectural mechanism library and developers are reusing from it regularly.
