Dr. VanHorn shows a portion of his classroom lab at Calvin University using ArcGIS Pro to visually inspect pre- and post- earthquake areas in Morocco. Using Maxar Open Source raster satellite imagery, Dr. VanHorn shows one of many pathways for students to evaluate disaster mitigation through step-by-step visual assessment of natural disaster areas, create databases of those affected areas, and how to share those locations in other places, such as Google Maps.
