Introduction and Interviewed by Fr. Joseph J. Palackal, CMI. This is the third and final part of the documentary on Thomman Luke Asan. Not many people know that the Maestro was also a teacher of Parichamuttukali, literally, a dance with striking swords and shields. It is an art form embedded in the history of the St. Thomas Christians, who, at one point, were experts in martial arts. For that reason, they were also the best soldiers in the land serving their local kings. They developed the art of Parichamuttukali to entertain and educate themselves on biblical stories. Thomman Luke Asan could recall several songs and Waytharis from Parichamuttukali. The video is a journey through the memory lane of the Maestro and the history of the St. Thomas Christians. This video is a valuable addition to our digital library. Please use headphones for clarity. The local birds were active participants in the recording. Slama, Shanthi.
