Antonov An-2 Cockpit View | Full Flight
• This was the flight when I first set up the GoPro HERO7 Black action camera to film the flight with a view of the instrument panel (cockpit). During the flight, I often glanced at the camera to make sure it was recording the flight. I understand that this can be annoying... 😁 It was a fairly windy day. The crosswind component reached 6 m/s (~ 12 knots), which is the limit of the An-2 taildragger according to the pilot operational handbook. Therefore, takeoff and landing were carried out without flaps. And instead of a standard left traffic pattern, I began a right turn into the wind at an altitude of 100 meters. There was strong turbulence near the ground, and above 100 meters the wind noticeably increased. • Date: June 1, 2024 • Airport: Kalachevo Airfield Airport (XSCW), Kopeysk, Chelyabinsk Oblast, Russia • Pilot in command: Sergey Vyatkin • Co-pilot: Marina Begma • Equipment used for video filming: GoPro HERO7 Black action camera ⚠️ Please don't forget to like this video, subscribe to my YouTube channel and don't forget to click the notification bell 🔔 • Time marks for easy navigation through the video (chapters): 00:00 Preparing to start the engine 00:48 Request to start the engine from the local airfield controller (sits in the ATC tower) 01:04 Start of spinning up the flywheel of the RIM-U-24IR (РИМ-У-24ИР) electric inertial starter 01:45 Start of the nine-cylinder, air-cooled, radial aircraft engine Shvetsov ASh-62IR (АШ-62ИР) with a takeoff power of 735.45 kilowatt (1,000 horsepower) 04:10 Start of taxiing to the line-up for takeoff 06:45 Takeoff from unpaved runway 31 07:50 Start of the first turn towards the right crosswind (into the wind) at an altitude of 100 meters followed by the second turn towards the left downwind (one combined turn by 180°) 10:10 Altitude 500 meters (~ 1,640 feet) 13:30 Altitude 1,000 meters (~ 3,280 feet) 16:15 Altitude 1,500 meters (~ 4,920 feet) 18:30 Entering the "Jump Run" course 18:50 Altitude 2,000 meters (~ 6,560 feet) 20:50 "Get ready" signal for skydivers 21:10 Reducing manifold pressure at an altitude of 2,400 meters (~ 7,870 feet) before the “Go” command in order to reduce the intensity of the air flow to facilitate hanging the videographers overboard 21:45 Beginning of an intensive descent 24:45 Entry into the base turn area at an altitude of 300 meters (~ 984 feet) 25:45 Switching the automatic propeller AV-2 (АВ-2) to a low pitch 26:15 Start of the base-to-final turn at an altitude of 150 meters (~ 492 feet) 27:08 Passing the threshold of the unpaved runway 31, beginning of the flare and three-point touchdown 27:27 Pressing the AChS-1 (АЧС-1) aviation clock after landing 27:37 Taxiing to the parking area 30:00 Aircraft parking 30:45 Stopping on wheel chocks 31:00 Start of engine shutdown procedure #An2 #Biplane #Cockpit
