There’s something about the solitude, the quiet, and the cold that calls to me. But there’s also more risk when everything is frozen, the roads are slippery, and you are miles from anything resembling help. This past year I went on 3 incredibly Epic snow adventures that showed me a fresh take on familiar places and introduced me to some incredible locations I’d never been. I also had good friends with me on each trip, who not only kept good company, but problem solved when things didn’t go as planned…and things never went as planned. The first adventure took place in the Canadian Rockies, also known as the Kootenies. I set out with my great friend Lance, and we met up with Nate from Dirt Lifestyle to see if we could make through Brittish Columbia’s most famous off-road trail in the winter. Our trip started at night, at the Whipsaw trailhead. After the Kootanies experience where I learned much more about driving in powder, I convinced a group of other YouTube channels to come out to Idaho and explore an area I’m very familiar with…the Middle Fork of the Boise River. As winter began to wain, we had time for one last snow wheeling trip…and I knew exactly where to take my friends. We headed to the main fork of the Salmon River. This is my favorite river in Idaho, one that is both incredibly beautiful and remains wild and free.
