Accusative or Dative case
Sometimes it's not easy to understand which case to use; if the terms like "direct object", "indirect object" are not clear to you, you may try and use my way of thinking about these two cases:
Accusative case: I'm taking an action towards something or something, this someone or something is my object
Dative case: someone or something is my recipient, the address of the action I took.
