Abandoned Italian village becomes a self sufficient, dreamy ecovillage
The rebirth of the medieval village of Torri Superiore (13th century), A small gem of popular architecture located in the Ligurian hinterland, near Ventimiglia (Imperia), a few kilometres from the sea and the French border.
The community, which has been active since 1989, has carried out the work of recovering the hamlet, which today houses not only the 25 residents but also an eco-tourist accommodation facility and a cultural association. Agricultural activities, olive growing and small-scale livestock breeding are also carried out.
