It's just BAR's luck that Jenson Button would win a race the year after they sold the team to Honda, but when BAR bought the Tyrrell team there were claims that they could win a race in their first season. But while BAR watched as Jordan and Stewart picked up wins and Prost got a podium, they were sat at the side of the road because the car had conked out. But at least the overall chassis was decent.
But when you say things like that and don't deliver, it gets used against you, much like it has with Liam Lawson, despite the car being terrible that he's in. But when you're not just sponsored by a tobacco company, you ARE a tobacco company and therefore have a decent budget with decent drivers, you probably should do better than you did, aside from that 2004 season.
