A Self-Guided Alaska Moose & Caribou Hunt | LESSONS LEARNED
In this episode of Lessons Learned, Marcus Hockett and Michael Parente revisit a hunt from last fall in Alaska for archery moose and caribou. This was a self-guided hunt and they were able to utilize the road system, and didn't need a bush plane or boat for access on this particular permit area.
Hunting Alaska from the lower 48 requires a lot of planning and logistics including travel, costs, and how to get meat back home if you are successful and harvest an animal. They also cover how to manage expectations of hunting in Alaska even with a draw tag.
Hunting in Alaska can be amazing and can also be difficult especially for a first timer. It's important to stay positive in relish in the beauty and other wildlife on the landscape. It's also vital to under the state's regulations inside and out. There can be a lot of specific differences and restrictions between residents and non-residents.
