9 NEW TOWERS FOR MANCHESTER | Building Boom In Planning / Under Construction
#ManchesterBuildingBoom #ModernArchitecture In this video I take a look at 9 new tall residential towers, planned or already under construction in the south central area of Manchester, close to Home Manchester and in the Great Jackson Street area. Some have said there are too many towers under construction in the Great Jackson Street district. I don't have an answer to this. One proposal is controversial because Hotspur House, an old mill dating from 1801, will not be listed and will therefore be saved, which seems contradictory. The buildings seen in this video are the work of two Manchester-based architectural practices: Hodder and SimpsonHaugh. The transformation of Manchester continues, this video provides another small snapshot. 0:00 Introduction 0:35 Hotspur House plans for high rise student residence 3:55 Contour two luxury towers Great Jackson Street 6:55 The Lighthouse tall residential tower proposal 7:35 Inspiration: Panorama viewing terrace, Antwerp 8:40 The Green - Four residential Towers Gt Jackson St 9:40 Viadux 2 tall residential and hotel tower proposal Many thanks to Tom Daly for his help with some of the views in this video.
