Mic position can further reduce the chance that your microphone captures those reflections. 3. Processing does an OK job fixing a poor raw recording (reflections). However, Processing can do a great job of improving a good raw recording (void of reflections). In this video, you will learn the importance of proper acoustic treatment and Processing on voice-recording quality. Follow along as I describe how I helped a voice-over artist improve the quality of his recording. This voice-over actor recorded his voice on a Rode NT1 (5th Generation) microphone into a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. However, there were issues, resulting in an overabundant boomy and unclear sound to his recordings. We improved his recording space by adding GIK acoustic treatment panels and reconfiguring his mic position. The result was a more balanced raw recording, which led to a better-processed voice recording sound.
