When you get a chance to work with a DP at Shane's caliber, the goal is to soak up as much information that you can. So being that I was camera operating for him for filmmakers Academy, I got the chance to just ask him what makes a great camera operator when he's choosing his team? I also asked him about camera movement and how important it is when shooting a scene. Hope these tips help you all. The biggest thing I've learned is you're only as good as your team and if you can craft a great team, it allows you to be at your best!
