28 DAYS LATER (2002) MOVIE REACTION - SUCH A THOUGHT-PROVOKING FILM! - FIRST TIME WATCHING - REVIEW
Welcome to our first-time watching as we react to 28 Days Later (2002).
"28 Days Later" is a 2002 British post-apocalyptic horror film directed by Danny Boyle and written by Alex Garland. The film is widely regarded as a landmark in the zombie horror genre, though technically, the infected in the movie are not traditional zombies.
The story begins when animal rights activists unwittingly release a highly contagious virus known as the "Rage Virus" from a research lab. This virus causes uncontrollable aggression in those infected, leading to societal collapse within a matter of days.
28 days later, the protagonist, Jim (played by Cillian Murphy), wakes up from a coma in an abandoned hospital in London. He finds the city eerily deserted, learning that civilization has crumbled due to the outbreak. As he navigates this new world, Jim encounters other survivors, including Selena (played by Naomie Harris), Mark, and later Frank (played by Brendan Gleeson) and his daughter, Hannah.
The group embarks on a perilous journey, seeking safety and hoping to find refuge at a supposed military sanctuary in Manchester. However, they soon discover that surviving the infected is only part of the challenge; human nature, desperation, and moral corruption present equal threats.
We hope you enjoy our reactions, commentary and discussions as we discuss the film's themes of survival and humanity, the intense horror sequences and the fantastic performances.
