2025 Swiss Conference AI-Augmented Scientific Explorations

Kemal Delic Senior Research Fellow, The Open University (UK) Humans have been inventing tools to augment our native abilities for millenia, beginning with the abacus to aid arithmetical calculations, and advanced with invention of the microscope and telescope in the early 17th century. The creation of very large scale digital facilities, and the availability of vast volumes of data, have enabled hyper-scale computing instruments to enhance not only human senses but also augment reasoning capabilities. This talk is about using AI-inspired methods on very large data sets in hyperscale computing facilities to enhance, augment, and accelerate scientific discoveries. AI-Augmented scientific explorations of Climate, Cancer, Brain, Genetics will be stressed.
