POV Test Drive of the brand new Alfa Romeo Junior Ibrida. Ibrida is basically hybrid version of the Alfa Romeo Junior. It has 3- cylinder 1.2 turbo-charged petrol engine which produces 136 HP and is linked with 6-speed dualclutch automatic transmission. The transition between electric motor to combustion engine is extremely smooth. I would appreciate 7-speed gearbox instead of 6-speed.
Drivingwise it is not that playful like MiTo or Giulietta. Junior is very adult car, which is very comfortable - suspension si soft enough, steering wheel is easy to rotate and it is very quiet as well. The joy from driving is not there in my opinion like it used to be, but it is much more comfortable that it used to be in older Alfa Romeo models. I appreciate the paddles under the wheel for gear changes.
Alfa Romeo claims, that it is possible to drive 50 % in city only on electricity. Well, it was not true in my case, but it was cold outside.
Alfa Romeo Junior is the the most affordable new Alfa Romeo car at the moment on the market. It is the smallest model of the Alfa Romeo as well, but it is not that small - it has 415 litres boot space and enough of space inside.
There are two problems - pairing your phone with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay is very painful and also there is inherited PSA problem of not locking the rear doors... The dashboard might be more luxury too.
Overall, Alfa Romeo Junior is gorgeos looking car. It stands out so much. In person, it is beauty. It is much more adult car than predecessors was, very chilled to drive.
