Dr Craig Filipkowski published an excellent quantitative study in Action Learning: Research and Practice: School leader development with action learning. Our field certainly needs quantitative research and he has done an impressive analysis using advanced quantitative methods. Craig’s research sought to examine to what extent does WIAL AL develop collaborative leadership for administrators in school systems. He proposed a number of hypotheses that would have confirmed the direct impact of Action Learning on collaborative leadership. Unfortunately, only one of these hypotheses was validated while the others did not indicate a clear impact of AL on collaborative leadership. Craig explained that there were a number of limitations that may have affected the findings, thus the validity of the measurements and results.
