2021 Live Review 4 | AP Statistics | Understanding Inference for Quantitative Data
In this AP Daily: Live Review session for AP Statistics, we will discuss strategies for success on AP Statistics Exam questions involving inference for quantitative data. We will focus on simplifying challenging content, including: how to interpret a confidence level; distinguishing Type I and Type II errors; why to use a t distribution when performing inference about means; calculating a confidence interval for slope from computer regression output; and determining whether one-sample t procedures for paired data or two-sample t procedures are appropriate in a given setting. We will also review critical skills and strategies for exam success, including: using technology to find p-values; and showing appropriate work on free-response questions that require a significance test (state hypotheses, identify inference method, verify conditions, calculate test statistic and p-value, make conclusion).
