1965 Pontiac Catalina Drop Top Farm Find Revival!
In this video, I get a 1965 Pontiac Catalina Convertible running and driving for the first time in several years. About a month ago, a "local legend" of sorts who I never met before stopped by the shop and said he had a couple Pontiacs he wanted to get rid of. He had seen my cars from the highway and figured I would be interested in them. I knew roughly where his place was and when I drove in, I was greeted with several antique tractors, tow trucks, pickups, and old hot rods. All the rumors surrounding this man were no joke. He's owned everything and done it all, but was extremely humble about everything he had accomplished. Just past his shop sat this 1965 Catalina convertible, and next to it surrounded by cedar trees sat a 1966 Star Chief coupe. We struck a deal on the two cars, along with several Pontiac parts he had laying around. Story goes the car was parked in 2008 due to brake problems (go figure). He had started the car occasionally, but it had been many years since the car moved. Underneath the hood showed signs of some customization, along with the car having Grand Prix trim and interior. The weather had done a number to the convertible top and the seats, but I was hopeful that the drivetrain would still be salvageable. In this video, I show what steps I took to get this old Poncho running, driving, and stopping again!
