1964 Oldsmobile 98 Rides Again! Low Buck Revival!
A little over a year ago, we bought a collection of cars and parts from a family that had been picking for decades. This 1964 Oldsmobile 98 4 door hardtop was included in the purchase. I unfortunately don't know any history on the old land yacht, but it was well optioned for its time and decently well cared for, aside from sitting outside with the trunk open as long as I've known of it. Initial inspection of the car showed that it had been possibly driven to where it sat, but prior to that may have been off the road for a decade or so, judging by the fact that there weren't very many new parts visible on the car. In this video, I get the old slab running and driving, and even spend a little time making the paint look presentable again. For a couple hundred dollars, we got the car running down the road again! It's powered by a 394 cubic inch Olds Rocket engine, which I believe was either 280 or 330 horsepower. I misspoke in the video and several times called the 4 barrel carburetor a Carter, even though I knew in the back of my head it was a Rochester 4 Jet (my bad!). All in all, the old gal didn't require much work to get moving around under its own power again, and even looks halfway presentable! Please like, comment, and subscribe to the channel! I greatly appreciate it!
