[email protected] While the Denver metro area was mostly spared from crippling snowfall totals, the same can not be said for areas along the foothills. One of the hardest hit communities of Genesee Park everywhere you look are cars buried under nearly 3ft of snow. Cindy, a resident since the 80s tells me this is one of the worst she's seen. She had experienced a 6ft snow event but that fell over the course of 3 days and not 24 hours like this 40 inches of snowfall. Across streets residents work to unbury themselves while walking in waist deep snow. Meanwhile, along i70 rescues efforts continue as snowplows slowly start to get a hold on things and get the highways clear. i70 has been closed for over 12 hours now.
