We will discuss the types of angles, angle measure in degrees, then move on to discussing radian angle measure in a future lesson. There are 360 degrees in every circle. To define an angle less than 360 degrees, we label an initial side of the angle and the terminal side of the angle. We also define the initial side to lie on the x-axis. Angles can be acute, obtuse, and other larger angle measures. We can also have angles with a value larger than 360 degrees, and right angles are exactly equal to 90 degrees. Trigonometry, PreCalculus, Calculus, and Geometry heavily use angle measure when solving problems.
